November 2014 - Cru Beaujolais

Once again we had 11 wines. Although it would have been really fun to have at least 1 wine from each of the 10 areas, we instead had only 4 of the 10 represented and a record for duplicates - 5 bottles were the same. Unfortunately, this particular type of wine was difficult to find in the Indianapolis area even though the area produces some very nice reasonably priced wines. It is very interesting to see how these duplicates fell in the lineup. Don't miss the photo bomb of a certain someone who almost missed the tasting.

For those of you who missed it, we had a very interesting lesson in the 10 Crus of Beaujolais and how to pronounce them.
  • St-Amour
  • Juliénas
  • Chénas
  • Moulin-a-Vent
  • Fleurie
  • Chiroubles
  • Morgon
  • Régnié
  • Brouilly
  • Côte de Brouilly

And for future reference, here are some web sites sent out by members for learning more about Cru Beaujolais
